About

I tilt my head because it might make things look…normal?

Every day I look around with my nose bunched up in a little sneer. Like, WTF…

Things change. Or people say and do stuff that has me asking if anyone else saw what I saw.

I’m looking for the truth of the things I see. Some are obvious but many, not so much. And making sense of it means standing in my spot and looking with care.

Maybe you’re experiencing similar…annoyances and enigmas.

What you’ll find here:

Every Thursday I write about the things worth wrestling with. Not your truth or my truth… THE truth, whatever it turns out to be. The questions that deserve more than a quick answer. They deserve another question. Or seven. The experiences you’ve accumulated that don’t come with a certificate but mean something anyway.

This isn’t about mindset. It’s about doing the honest work of examining your life. Wrestling with the stuff. Until you uncover something true.

And then saying it. Out loud. As yourself.

Here’s what I actually believe, under all of it: the agency is already yours. I’m not here to give it to you. I’m here to remind you it was never anyone else’s. You choose. You do. You speak as yourself. And you live with it.

Who am I?

Who am I? Good question.

I’m a somebody because somebodys (like my wife, my friends) choose to love me. I’ve stopped asking why and accept that they look past my shortcomings, grump, and inexorable need for solitude.

I enjoy conversation over coffee with people I love (like my wife, my friends) and with authors. Via their books.

I cook decently and eat slower than most. If I had to choose one type of food I could eat every day, it’d be Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Thai, Italian, Ethiopian, and Korean. Because I refuse to be limited by some arbitrary limitation when there’s nutritional yumminess to be had.

Do these things answer who I am? Pssshh. I would think not. But it’s a descriptive start, yeah?
